What is an Internship?
An “internship” is an opportunity offered by an employer to potential employees, called “interns”, to work at a firm for a fixed period of time. Interns are usually undergraduates or students, and most internships last for any length of time between one week and 6 months.
Internships offer students a period of practical experience in the industry relating to their field of study. This experience is valuable to students as a means of allowing them to experience how their studies are applied in the “real world”, and as work experience that can be highly attractive to potential employers on a candidate’s resume.
Why do an Internship now?
No experience means no job in today’s economy. More than ever companies are unwilling to take risks when hiring new staff. You are in competition with every other graduate in your course and the only way to stand out is by proving you are a better bet than your competition. In particular, companies are hiring graduates with unique experiences coupled with one or two internship experiences related to their field of study.
Can you afford another summer working in a meaningless job? Do you have the time or the connections to find a significant internship on your own? This is an investment in your future.
Although thousands of students apply for coveted internships every year, many fall short of getting them. Our Internship Program helps you remove the uncertainty and guess-work and provides you with something of a rarity – an Internship Placement Guarantee. When you invest in our program, you will spend the summer pursuing your professional goals. Full stop!
