STEP 1

Meet the entry requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • Hard-working, mature and motivated attitude
  • Good communication skills with a high level of English both written and verbal
  • Application Forms must include education and work experience information for assessment purposes. You must have these available.
  • You have allowed at least 6-8 weeks before you would like to commence your placement (This may be longer depending on in-take dates and assessments for special programs).

STEP 3

Submit your application

Your application consists of two parts: The application fee and the Application form. We need both to commence processing your application.

  1. Internship Application Fee

    Once your application fee has been paid, open and fill in the Application Form.

STEP 4

Initial interview

One of our internship gurus will contact you to discuss your individual needs, objectives for completing the program, together with your future goals so we can “custom-design” a program just for you. We will also provide you with accommodation options and answer any questions you may have regarding the program or information on Perth or Melbourne.

Please allow 2 working days for us to respond to your email application and email you with an option of times for us to call you.

STEP 5

Acceptance to program

After our phone call to you, AELC will confirm your acceptance into the program via email and you will be asked to pay the Initial Placement Fee and supply us with a copy of your C.V or resume together with a Letter of Introduction for prospective host companies.

Please allow 48 hours for confirmation of enrolment to be emailed to you.

STEP 6

Arranging your internship placement

Once we have identified your goals our Internship Guru will custom design an internship program for you, based on your application form and our telephone conversation with you. Then we will negotiate a placement for you with one of our leading organisations. Once this has been achieved AELC will provide you with a Placement Confirmation Document detailing your host organisation, details of the placement and if required your Homestay accommodation details.

This process may take some time – please allow 6-8 weeks for confirmation of placement however your internship guru will be in constant contact with you during this period working with you to sort out any issues you may need assistance with.

STEP 7

Confirmation of internship placement

You will need to confirm acceptance of the placement within 2 working days of receiving the Placement Confirmation Document.

Once you have accepted and signed the document and returned it to AELC we will issue you with an invoice for the Internship Program and if applicable the Homestay placement fee and 4 weeks Homestay accommodation fee in advance.

The Invoice needs to be paid in full 28 days prior to commencement of the internship program.

Special Notes

Additional things that you will also need to take into consideration when planning your internship:

  • Return airfares to your home country
  • Visa application, cost and time frame to obtain
  • Living expenses whilst in Australia
  • Health & Travel Insurance costs – you will need to supply us with a copy of your insurance cover.
